About Me
Hi! I am a mindfulness practitioner with certifications in mindfulness meditation teaching and facilitation and sound healing. Having spent 30 years as an IT professional in corporate environments and balancing corporate expectations, motherhood, caregiving, community service and personal wellness, I understand the modern challenges – let’s be honest -- the impossible-ness in trying to “do it all” and maintaining a sense of equanimity. I bring a unique blend of professional experience, mindfulness training and a midwestern practicality to support well-being across diverse environments – from corporate spaces to community gatherings.

I came to mindfulness in 2010 after experiencing first hand the power of mindfulness to manage stress and improve my well-being and resilience. Meditation helped me regain groundedness during a chaotic time navigating the challenges thrown at a serious medical condition of a close family member that rippled out into all areas of life and began impacting my own health in dramatic ways. The stress was leaking out in a variety of physical symptoms. After visiting my doctor, she recommended meditation and I did my first meditation right there in her office. Very quickly I found my level of stress reducing, I started to learn to process my emotions in a healthy way, and I started learning to accept the conditions of my life as they were. I was so moved by the effects that I not only became a devout practitioner but in the fall of 2022 began training to become a mindfulness teacher so I could help others that may have similar challenges find some peace.
I completed my 2 year training through the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley, in March 2025. To further support my offerings with the power of sound, I completed my 100 Hr Sound Healing Training through Sage Academy of Sound in Woodstock, NY, in July 2025.
Through the past few years, I’ve had the good fortune to lead community meditation classes, 1:1 sessions, women’s circles, mindfulness team building activities, corporate wide wellness events, day long meditation wellness rooms conference events, and even a guest speaker on a podcast!
I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to my teaching and sessions. I strive to offer a welcoming space for all people to slow down, reconnect, and build simple habits for greater presence and balance. Yes, meditation is an inside job, but the magic is in the community of support.
I developed SOMAmindful to develop the power of community and connection and I hope to be approachable and accessible to all from those completely unfamiliar with meditation but curious to those looking to deepen their practice.
